The small landlocked African country of Rwanda is the young state, gained its independence from Belgium in 1961. Despite being the German colony in the past, two of three official languages of Rwanda are English and French, the third is native Kinyarwanda tongue. The people of the country are mostly of the same origin, with a small part of forest Pygmies, considered to be the earliest nation of the region. Rwanda differs from many other African countries by the uniformity of the population, bordered by its historical pre-colonial boundaries. It’s also one of the most densely populated regions on the Black continent. The legal tender notes and coins of Rwanda are its own currency called franc.
